1.Content teacher will work in collaboration with Special Education Teacher with co-taught class; modeling, developing criteria for, and evaluating student written text connections.

Independent practice

2. Content teacher will focus instruction on identified areas of need as measured by 2007 CMT. Focus areas include CMT Reading Strand 2- Developing an Interpretation- currently 53% mastery, CMT Reading Strand 3 Making- Reader to text connections- currently 33% mastery and CMT Reading Strand 4 Examining Content and Structure- currently 70% mastery.

Independent practice

3. Students will be able to demonstrate proficiency in the CMT Writing objective Composing and Revising ( as defined by CMT Language Arts Handbook pg. 210) by creating written pieces that include appropriate: content, organization, tone, syntax, and word choice.

Students will take at lest three pieces of writing through the writing process.

Teacher will work with composing and revising skills through "do now" activities, daily grammar mini-lessons lessons, and John Collins' Writing Instruction, and independent practice..

Review and reflect on the school improvement plan, all indicators in the three strands of the Connecticut Common Core of Teaching (CCT) and Discipline-Based Professional Teaching Standards, or your position responsibilities and complete this form.  Use a separate sheet for each agreed upon objective.  The objective should be discussed and signed by both the evaluator and staff member by October 1st of the applicable year.

 

OBJECTIVE as related to improved student learning:

1. The percentage of 7th grade male students in my co-taught/SPED class who reach mastery in Reading Comprehension Content Strand 2 (Making Reader to Text Connections) will increase from 8% to 25% by the end of the 2007-2008 school year as measured by the CMT administered in March, 2008.

2. The percentage of 7th grade students in Mrs. Tarbox's Language Arts classes scoring at proficiency in Reading will increase from 77% to 90%  as measured by CMT administered in March, 2008.

3. The percentage of 7th grade students in Mrs. Tarbox's Language Arts classes who reach mastery of Writing Strand 1 (Composing and Revising) will increase from 44% to 60% as measured by CMT administered in March, 2008.
